We offer exposure-based and behavioral-based therapies including ERP, CBT, ACT, and as well as PCIT-SM, including intensive treatments. As an out-of-network, fee-for-service clinic, we have the flexibility to provide treatment in the clinic, home, school, and community, which serves to maximize treatment outcome and feels rewarding for both patient and therapist alike. We value a healthy work-life balance, and we support each other in that pursuit.

We take care of you so that you can focus on your patients. We know that a strong infrastructure provides the foundation for you to deliver excellent treatment. Therefore, we have staff that handles all intake registration paperwork, supports patients through the out-of-network insurance process, and collects fees on your behalf so that you can be fully focused on your clinical work.

How to Apply

Applications received by Nov 30 will be prioritized for review. After that date, application review will continue until the positions are filled or the search is closed. If selected for an interview, you will be contacted by  email. Interviews will be scheduled in December, and offers will be sent in January.

It is preferred that appointments begin by July 1, 2023, but it is understood that some internships end later, so the start date can be flexible.

Submit your cover letter, CV, and 2 letters of recommendation to postdoc@advancedtherapeuticsolutions.org. Interviews will occur virtually or in-person, depending on needs.

The Ideal Candidate ...

  • Has a passion for treating anxiety and/or OCD, and there's opportunity for the right candidate to start and run an OCD department within the practice (guidance and mentorship will be provided).
  • Is comfortable working with both children/adolescents and adults, but we will also consider candidates who want to focus on just one age population.
  • Plans to work in private practice as a career.
  • Enjoys mentoring undergraduates and graduate students.

Why ATSA?

  • You will learn how to treat a unique condition, selective mutism, which co-occurs with a number of anxiety disorders (social anxiety, separation anxiety, specific phobia, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia). Neurodevelopmenal disorders and OCD are also common. Because our patients are unable to speak, their access to care is significantly impacted. We specialize in treating the selective mutism symptoms, while also treating the comorbid presentations. It is truly a unique training experience that not many individuals receive. Our mission is to spread knowledge and awareness by training postdocs and increasing access to care.

  • We are results driven, not numbers driven. As a postdoctoral fellow, you will receive guidance and support on how to keep healthy boundaries and a manageable caseload.
  • Having a manageable caseload allows room for continued professional development, including pursuing practice certifications (e.g., PCIT-SM, IOCDF BTTI, SPACE, etc.). ATSA will support you in your professional growth.
  • We run intensive exposure therapy programs, both as individual and group treatments, for selective mutism, and there is opportunity to develop/run similar programs for other anxiety conditions.
  • We value the integration of science and practice and, towards that end, support you by subsidizing registration fees to attend national conferences such as ADAA, ABCT, SMA, IOCDF so that you can stay informed of research and practice.
  • Because we value research, we collect data on our clinical programs, giving you the opportunity, if you wish, to conduct research on existing data or become inspired to run new data collection/investigations.
  • We have ongoing relationships with local graduate programs and wonderful graduate students who are eager to assist with research studies or pursue clinical externships at ATSA, providing opportunities to provide supervision and train the next generation of psychologists.
  • We have ongoing relationships with area public and private schools (Pre-K through High School) where there is opportunity to provide in-services or consultations.
  • We have paid staff who takes care of billing in house, manages the paperwork flow of new intakes, and overall minimizes administrative paperwork for you so you can focus on your patients.
